At Olin College, the Plasma Engineering Lab had a vacuum chamber in need of an adapter for a turbomolecular vacuum pump. An off the shelf solution was not available, so I offered to assist in creating a solution.
Using an adapter that was supplied with the pump, I modified the chamber side on the mill, drilling bolt clearance holes and reducing the diameter.
I then fabricated a stainless steel flange that mates with the chamber before TIG welding both halves together.
